Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,
We received a wedding invitation with blanks for food preferences on the response card. However, our family does not all want the same meal, otherwise I would simply check one of them. My husband and I want the salmon, but our daughter wants chicken. How do we indicate who prefers what?
Signed,
Puzzled
Dear Puzzled,
Your wedding/reception response card may look like the following.
M______________________
Number of persons__________
will______attend
Chicken Florentine_____ Poached Salmon_____
For the meal selection, fill in the blanks with the number of people who prefer that particular entree. For example, write 1 after chicken and 2 after salmon. You do not need to specifically designate which meal any particular person prefers. The response card is only to get an approximate head count of the number of each meal needed for the reception. At the reception, the wait staff will ask each person their preference.
