My good friend's daughter, who lives out of state, is getting married and I've been invited to the wedding. I cannot afford the airfare or hotel, so I don't plan to go. Do I need to send a gift?

But, often people send a gift to show their fondness for the person even if they cannot attend. Although you cannot go to the wedding, you should at least send a card of good wishes.
