My husband and I ordered an expensive bottle of Chardonnay to celebrate our anniversary. After the "ritual" of tasting the sample in the glass poured by the waiter, my husband stated that it wasn't what he expected. But, the waiter did not make any moves to take back the bottle of wine. My husband didn't want to make a big deal about the wine not tasting very good, so didn't pursue it. Don't you think the waiter should have gotten a different bottle for us?
Signed,
Disappointed
Dear Disappointed,
If the wine tasted spoiled, then your husband should tell the waiter that the wine was not satisfactory. But, if the wine simply didn't taste as good as hoped, then that is not a sufficient reason to return the wine.
