My fiance and I picked out invitations for our wedding and like the idea of using a monogram on the outside with our future married monogram. The monogram has our married last name initial with our first name initials on either side. When I told my mother about the monogram, she said it was ridiculous to have that monogram on a wedding invitation since my name hadn't changed yet. Is she right?

Dear Confused,
While it's becoming more common to see the married monogram on a wedding invitation, it is not really proper. Generally, a wedding monogram with your married last name initial is used after the wedding for thank you notes.
Monogrammed wedding invitations use either the bride's initials or the first name initials of the couple.
