Pearl Necklace Lengths for Different Necklines





Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

I have a V-neck dress and wonder what pearl necklace I should wear? The choices are a three-strand pearl choker or an 18" strand?

What necklines do 18" strands look best?

Either the three-strand chocker or the 18" necklace would look fine with a V-neck. However, a long necklace looks best when it falls about half-way between the base of the neck and the point of the V. If you can add a pendant (enhancer) to the 18" strand, it would look great, too.

Pearl chokers can be worn with most any neckline. Besides the V-neck, your 18" strand would fine with with higher necklines or plunging necklines.

Longer length pearl necklaces (20" or longer), look best with high necklines.
