The Apple iphone is very popular, but unless your husband has cell phone service with AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint, then he would have to switch carriers to use the iphone. If he is happy with his current service provider, then he may not wish to switch carriers, or he may want to wait until his carrier offers the iphone. Or, perhaps he would want a different phone such as Blackberry.

Overall good reviews have been given to the iphone by pcmag.com and cnet.com editors.

iphone Pros: Web speed, camera, call quality, many apps, fun voice assistant (Siri).

iphone Cons: No 4G, keyboard small, social-networking integration limited.

In addition, PC Magazine's lead analyst Sascha Sagan says, "the glass front and back are prone to cracking if dropped frequently; I've seen more cracked iPhones than any other variety of device." (pcmag.com)

Note that Apple keeps coming up with new iphones each year, so make sure that you are not buying an iphone just before the release of a new one. For example, a new iphone release in June 2012 is expected to have 4G and larger screen.
