Blue-Eyed Blonde Expectations Unrealistic

Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

How do I tell someone that I'm disillusioned with them and don't want to date them any more? I met a beautiful blue-eyed blonde who seemed like the perfect looking girl. But, after I got to know her, I found out that her hair is bleached blonde, her blue eyes were really brown because she wore blue contacts, she had a nose job and breast implants. I feel like I've been cheated. She's called me and left messages, but I haven't called her back because I don't know how to tell her that she seems like a phony. Do you know what I mean? What can I say to let her down easy?

Dear Fooled,

If this girl was nice, intelligent, and interesting I doubt you would care about her manufactured looks. You have unrealistic expectations for how a girl should look since you thought this "blue-eyed blonde" was the perfect looking girl. Her exterior appearance is what attracted you to her in the first place.

Instead of focusing on how a person looks, focus on how they are. It's what's on the inside that counts. If her personality and interests aren't compatible with yours, then tell her that you don't have enough in common. But, to tell her that you are put-off by her fake exterior is very demeaning.
