I just read a letter on your website from a woman whose husband had died only one month earlier from a long illness. This compelled me to write to tell you about a book called "Liberating Losses: When Death Brings Relief" by Jennifer Elison, Ed.D. & Chris McGonigle Ph.D.
Because of various issues concerning my mother's health, this book has been a lifesaver for me. In a nutshell, it speaks of deaths that liberate not only the person who dies but also loved ones. It is a groundbreaking book that helps survivors to realize that there is nothing "wrong" or "evil" and nothing to feel guilty about because they are relieved at someone's passing.
The deaths examined in this book are of persons who were very ill, but also of abusive spouses who, by dying, freed their victims to get on with the business of living.
Signed,
Have a great day and blessed be!
