Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

How do I address the inside note to thank a married couple? Should the wife's name come first or the husband's? Although the husband was the individual that gave the kindness to our family, I want to thank both the husband and wife as a couple. Also, when I close the note, should my name or my husband's name be written first?

For casual notes with first names being used, the wife's name comes first. If using titles such as Dr. or Reverend, then the person with the title comes first.

When closing the casual note using first names, the wife's name comes first. Although, it would be fine if your husband wrote the note and signed his name first.
