"Buck" is an absolute gem of a biographical documentary film about the life and times of modern day "horseman" Buck Brannaman, masterfully portrayed by director Cindy Meehl.
Brannaman's story, told with a certain rural wit and simplicity, examines Buck's personal triumph of compassion over brutality, and by extension, suggests that a "gentle give and take" between human and animal, parent and child, adult and adult, by extension is what ultimately defines a civilized society.
