Prom Corsage and Boutonniere Who Buys?

I was asked to our school prom and wonder if I should ask my date about whether or not he'll be getting me a corsage or should I just buy my own?

It would be good to have a discussion on this topic with your date. Generally, the boy buys the girl a corsage, and the girl buys the boy the boutonniere. It would be nice to coordinate the ribbons on the corsage and boutonniere so that it matches your dress color. To keep the flowers fresh, order the boutonniere ahead of time, but ask that it be ready a day or two before the prom, and keep it in the refrigerator until your date arrives.
