Balding and Hair Replacement Costs

I started noticing that the hair is thinning on the top of my head. I am 45 years old and my father still has a full head of hair. My wife says that I am going bald because I always wearing a baseball cap. If I stop wearing the hat, will my hair grow back? If not, how much does it cost for hair replacement?
